Chemtronics has announced two new water-based conformal coatings that provide superior protection for circuit boards, low odor, and lower VOC emissions. Konform UR-A Conformal Coating is a unique water-based, urethane conformal coating that effectively protects circuits from moisture and air-borne contaminants.
It protects against abrasion, humidity, salt, corrosive vapors, solvents and fungus for printed circuit board and electronic assemblies.
Konform HR Conformal Coating is a unique hybrid of acrylic and urethane resins, with the insulating dielectric advantages of an acrylic coating and the chemical resistance of urethane. Konform HR provides an effective protective barrier against humidity, salt, corrosive vapors and fungus.
Konform UR-A and HR are water-based coatings, utilizing the safer and more environmentally-friendly water that replaces high-VOC and toxic solvents such as xylene, toluene, and MEK. VOC’s are smog producing compounds that are highly regulated in many regions. Removing highly volatile solvents also reduces the odor, which can improve the work environment. Both coatings are compliant with European RoHS and REACH directives in addition to most other environmental standards.
Konform Conformal Coatings are engineered to protect printed circuit boards and components. These coatings provide excellent electrical insulation and withstand hot and cold operating environments, as well as heat generated by electronic circuitry.
Chemtronics is the acknowledged industry leader in solutions for the electronics, telecommunications and critical environments markets. Their products are engineered to meet a full array of cleaning, protecting and repairing needs. Products include degreasers, defluxers, conformal coatings, antistatic products, desoldering braid, board repair pens, swabs, wipes, and fiber optic cleaners.
